How to Buy a Refurbished IPOD?
Most people would love to have an MP3 player and wonder how to buy a refurbished IPOD. In fact, with new IPOD prices ranging from $200 on up, it is no surprise that people are trying to get a better deal on a refurbished one, hoping to get a lower price and that someone out there is more interested in getting the latest version everytime one comes out, trading in their old one.
To buy a refurbished IPOD you must first do some level of research and scrutinize all the available choices before deciding to make a purchase. As with any consumer purchase, doing research allows you to avoid getting a product that does not meet your needs, has faults and/or is not worth the money it is being sold for. Initially, you should be asking yourself the following questions before making a purchase:
- What do you need it for?
- Do you just want to listen to music?
- Do you need it for lots of photographs?
- Do you need it for file/document storage?
- Do you need an appointment calendar?
- Are there any other features that you need?
Next, you need to decide what level of memory you need and whether or not your computer or laptop is compatible. Ask yourself these questions:
- How many songs, photos or files should the IPOD store?
- Does my computer automatically accept Apple products, software and devices?
Keep in mind that IPODs are generally designed to work with Macs and other Apple computers, using AppleiTunes software. If your computer or laptop is not made by Apple then it should be able to hand at least iTunes. If not, you may need to upgrade your system to allow for this, which will ultimately cost more money.
Next, consider the warranty, refund policy and customer service support provided. Warranties generally cover partial or full repairs, but you can either pay extra for an extended warranty or if you use your credit card to make the purchase, you will get this automatically without extra charges. Refund policies vary, may not apply to sale items, are time sensitive and vary according the country/vendor. Customer service should provide 24 hour support and no extra charges.
When you buy a refurbished IPOD, use common sense, ask questions and test it. Failing everything you can always get your money back and find another one.
